As a successful approach of treating gynecological problems, laparoscopic surgery has earned universal recognition among doctors and patients. The key arguments in favor of this procedure are enhanced healing, a shorter hospital stay, reduced postoperative pain, and decreased blood loss. As surgical expertise and technology have progressed, the nature and characteristics of laparoscopic operations have become more complex. At facilities equipped for advanced laparoscopic surgery, complex adnexal lesion surgeries, hysterectomies, pelvic floor repair, and endometriosis resections are now performed by this procedure. In general, the incidence of complications directly attributable to laparoscopic procedures is low. Less than one percent of individuals develop problems following initial abdominal access. Once abdominal access is gained, procedural complications are also uncommonly encountered. Up to fifty percent of cases in which an abdominal access is done to insert a camera or port result in complications. Complications can develop from abdominal insufflation, tissue dissection, and hemostasis. Certain complications may be resolved intraoperatively, while others may not be identified until the postoperative phase, necessitating conversion to an open procedure.

The morbidity and mortality associated with laparoscopic surgery include potentially lethal complications such as vascular damage and intestinal perforation. Despite the fact that complications may be influenced by a variety of patient and surgeon-related factors, the vast majority of complications can be prevented with sufficient skill. During laparoscopic procedures, it is essential to prioritize both early detection and prevention.
